Seijo University opened the Data Science Education and Research Center in April 2019.We aim to foster students who are interested in data and think and act based on data, and to develop the application of data science in the fields of humanities and social sciences.
The purpose of setting up the center is to have students acquire logical and scientific thinking based on data at Seijo University, which is a university of liberal arts.From basic lessons such as learning about "big data" through topics familiar to students such as social networks and smartphones, to practical lessons to learn data science analysis technology and utilization technology by actual examples, to give students data To acquire the ability to think based, find problems, and solve problems.
Until now, Seijo University has set up a group of subjects specializing in data science as common subjects for all students, and has also been focusing on "science and mathematics education." In 2015, based on a comprehensive cooperation agreement with IBM Japan Headquarters, the data science class (data science subject group) was opened first among the liberal arts universities nationwide.
