The research group of Professor Osamu Goto (Research Institute), Professor Masaki Tamura (Department of Architecture, Faculty of Architecture), Professor Masahiro Murakami (Department of Town Planning, Faculty of Architecture) of Kogakuin University has collaborated with Noumi Disaster Prevention Co., Ltd. We have developed a firefighting technology that uses a high-viscosity liquid that has the effect of preventing the spread of fire and suppressing combustion in a building. This technology is effective in preventing the spread and spread of fires in cultural properties, which have been regarded as a problem these days.

The high-viscosity liquid is a high-viscosity liquid in which inorganic substances are dispersed in water, and it can be expected to have the effect of suppressing the spread of burning inside because it not only extinguishes the burning surface part but also blocks the ingress of air when it adheres. ..Furthermore, it is easy to wash with water, there is almost no trace left on the building, and since it is composed of water and inorganic substances, there is no burden on the environment.
In addition, in order to prevent the spread of fire and suppress combustion of thatched roofs, conventional firefighting technology required a large amount of water, but since high-viscosity liquids are less likely to run off than water, the amount of spraying is small, and it is possible to save water sources. ..

Kogakuin University will donate a prototype of a portable device using this technology to the former Entsuji Temple guesthouse in Kanazawa Hakkei Gongenyama Park, which is under construction by Yokohama City.Assuming that it will be used by managers and voluntary disaster prevention organizations, it is an easy-to-move device with wheels.

Part of the research on this development was the result of research by the Fire Defense Agency's Fire and Disaster Prevention Science and Technology Research Promotion System, and the experiment was carried out with the cooperation of Tokyo University of Science.
