This time, the winner of the Excellence Award in the newspaper advertising category of the 2019 "AC Japan Advertising Student Award" was "Media Literacy Clinic-Filter Bubble Edition-" produced by Miai Kamatani, a third-year student in the Department of Media Sociology, Faculty of Sociology. .. A "filter bubble" is a situation in which a search engine algorithm surrounds you with information that you like, as if you were surrounded by bubbles.

In creating the work, Mr. Kamatani said, "The situation of" filter bubble "affects the bias of thinking and the determination of the truth of information, so I chose this theme first because I want people to know it.When using social media, I would like you to look not only at what you can see, but also at various opinions and information.I feel that my daily antenna for media literacy and my hobby illustrations will lead to this award and will be rewarded.I hope that many people will be aware of media literacy through this work. I commented.

The winner of the Encouragement Award in the TV commercial category was "Food Loss," produced by a team of second-year students in the Department of Media and Social Sciences, Faculty of Sociology.I made it when I realized that there are many ingredients that I can eat in my daily diet but throw away. In the commercial, it is suggested that not only eating all the prepared foods, but also eating the foods that are thrown away as garbage without wasting them may lead to the solution of the problem.

The AC Japan Advertising Student Award is an award aimed at fostering an understanding of public service announcements and a "public" awareness related to society by soliciting and commending advertising works on the theme of public service announcements for students.
