Saitama Institute of Technology will conduct the second demonstration experiment in 2 in the Haneda Airport area as a participating organization of the second phase of the Strategic Innovation Creation Program (SIP) "Automated Driving (Expansion of Systems and Services)" by the Cabinet Office on October 2020. It was carried out for a total of 2 days from the day.

Continuing from June 2020, Saitama Institute of Technology will participate in the autonomous driving bus (Riesse II) developed by the Saitama Institute of Technology's Automated Driving Technology Development Center. This time, it was a run to verify the effectiveness of infrastructure cooperation functions such as public vehicle priority system (PTPS) utilizing ITS radio roadside unit, signal information provision, and bus lane.

Measured and traveled at a speed of 3 km / h (within the legal speed) in the actual environment on a course of about 4 km on public roads in the surrounding area starting from Haneda Airport Terminal 60 Building. The developed self-driving bus was equipped with an ITS wireless receiver, and data was measured to verify the effectiveness of the mechanism for providing signal information and preferential signal control for public vehicles (buses) by wireless communication.

Saitama Institute of Technology has participated in SIP autonomous driving for the second consecutive term as a private university since October 2017. Centering on the autonomous driving technology development center established in April 10, we are working on SIP autonomous driving by making use of our experience of participating in many demonstration experiments on public roads all over the country.

In addition, in this demonstration experiment, as a new style of online education that utilizes cutting-edge research as educational material for students, a "running online seminar" was held for graduation research seminar students from inside the driving car.
