The Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo Next Generation Mobility Research Center (ITS Center, Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo) will hold "ITS Seminar in Saitama-Introduction, Implementation, and Development of New Technologies in the Region" online on September 9th (Friday).This time, which is the 24th time of the ITS Seminar Series of the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo, we will give lectures and discussions on the two themes of "Eiichi Shibusawa" and "Automated Driving" in collaboration with Saitama Institute of Technology.
In the dissemination and promotion of ITS, autonomous driving technology, etc. for solving regional issues, how to introduce and implement new technologies and to promote the development of industries and companies for that purpose are major issues.Therefore, the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo ITS Center holds seminars for the purpose of returning research results to society, promoting the spread of ITS that meets the needs of the region, developing human resources in the region, and exchanging information about two to three times a year. It is held jointly with the organization.
The seminar will be co-sponsored by Saitama Institute of Technology, which is known for its active development of autonomous driving technology.He has participated in many demonstration experiments in Saitama Prefecture and other parts of Japan, and has recently been conducting research. Recently, he has visited the land related to Eiichi Shibusawa, who is said to be the father of the modern Japanese economy. It provides a large automatic driving bus developed by the university to (Operating Co., Ltd.).
On the day of the event, Mr. Ken Shibusawa, Chairman of Commons Investment Trust Co., Ltd. and Representative Director of Shibusawa and Company, Inc., took the stage. A special lecture will be held entitled "The Modern Significance of Eiichi Shibusawa's" Theory and Arithmetic "that Leads the Future."
Next, as the first part, the Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo ITS Center reported on "Collaboration with operators in the Kashiwanoha area autonomous driving bus operation experiment" and "Efforts to realize cooperative level 4 autonomous driving in mixed spaces".
