Nanzan University (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture) Volunteer group "Iris", a first-year student in the Faculty of International Liberal Arts, held a university festival in November 1 as part of the "Nanzan Challenge Project". We held an event to let people know about.

From June 2017, the group plans a collaborative project with Popeye (Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture), an NPO that supports people with disabilities, with the aim of "searching for a coexisting society with people with disabilities from a local perspective."・ Operates.Through this activity, we aim to establish a close relationship between university students and people with disabilities, and to establish a relationship in which they can recognize and respect each other's differences.

At the university festival, entitled "What is the daily life of people with disabilities?", We will introduce a video of Popeye's welfare service users working on ornaments as an art activity. In addition, we will sell "delicious snacks that are kind to the body" manufactured at the facility "Moyako" where people with disabilities work, and sample sweets jointly developed with the aim of raising the wages of people with disabilities who work at the facility. A meeting was also held.

Nanzan University supports these activities as the "Nanzan Challenge Project".By supporting new extracurricular activities that promote revitalization within the university, exchanges with local communities, and international exchanges, the university creates various opportunities that lead to the growth of students.

In the "Minamiyama Challenge Project", current students form a group and apply for extracurricular activities that match any of the four recruitment themes.Based on the activity plan and income and expenditure plan, the university will examine the novelty, concreteness, feasibility, etc. of the activity content and decide whether to accept it, and will pay up to 30 yen depending on the application course. So far, projects such as "creating smartphone apps for current students" and "supporting exchanges between international students and elementary school students" have been adopted and are being active.
