At the 2017 Waseda University Research Awards, three people, including Professor Yoshimichi Oki of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, who promoted long-term soundness evaluation technology research for electrical and instrumentation equipment in the large-scale research project promotion department, and software in the international research transmission power department. Nine people were selected, including Professor Hironori Washizaki of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, who has achieved pioneering research results on pattern extraction, analysis, and quality assurance.The award winners were presented with a certificate and a supplementary prize of 3 yen in the large-scale research project promotion category and 9 yen in the international research dissemination ability category.
According to Waseda University, the Research Awards started in 2014 with the aim of promoting original research and strengthening international information dissemination capabilities.Every year, we commend researchers who lead large-scale research projects and young researchers who have achieved internationally acclaimed research results.
In the large-scale research project promotion department, in addition to Professor Oki, Professor Kohei Tatsumi of the Faculty of Science and Engineering in the research and development of SiC heat-resistant module mounting technology for automobiles composed of silicon and carbon, and science and engineering who promoted the development of a new residential energy management system. Professor Yasuhiro Hayashi of the Faculty of Science was selected.
