In the Department of Physical Therapy, Faculty of Health Sciences, Kio University, all 2021 graduates from March 3 passed the 61th National Examination for Physical Therapists held in February. This is the only university in Kansai that has passed all the students for the sixth consecutive year.
Kio University opened the first physical therapy department at a private university in Kansai in April 2003.To date, more than 4 graduates have been active in hospitals, and some have become faculty members at other universities. The research activities of faculty members are also actively carried out, such as the establishment of a graduate school of health sciences and a research center for a new genre of rehabilitation "neurorehabilitation" aimed at promoting the recovery of neurological function.
The 2021 National Examination for Physical Therapists, which had difficulty maintaining the same environment as usual due to the corona sickness, showed a severe result with a national average (new graduate) pass rate of 86.4%, which is 2020 points lower than in 7.Under such circumstances, Kio University has achieved "passing all physiotherapists" for the sixth consecutive year since 2016.This achievement is the only university in the Kansai region, and even among the training schools with more than 6 examinees, Kio University has achieved a feat.
Koji Shomoto, Dean of the Department of Physical Therapy, said, "The difficulty of the exam and the passing rate vary from year to year, but all the students at our university have passed the exam for the sixth consecutive year, doing their best as usual. To deal with any problem, you need more knowledge than exam preparation. Moreover, this year I took the corona exam, but I think it is the result of doing what I should do without being upset.I would like to take pride in the students of Kio University and look forward to further efforts toward next year. ”
