Waffle, a general incorporated association aiming to close the gender gap in the IT field, will hold an online event "Waffle Festival" on November 2021, 11.The target is high school girls and college students.Currently, we are recruiting a wide range of participants for the event.

In Japan, despite the highest score among OECD member countries in the International Student Assessment PISA, 3.4% of female students wish to work in the fields of science and engineering, which is the lowest level among OECD member countries. ..

Until now, Waffle has provided opportunities for IT education and career education for female junior and senior high school students, but felt that there were few opportunities to know the course of IT by multiplying existing occupations and industry occupations. For example, even students who are aiming to start a business in the future may consider computer science and entrepreneurship to be completely different fields, or originally aspired to the medical school, but combined the medical field with information engineering. Some students learned that they had a job and began to aim to learn information engineering.

Therefore, at the "Waffle Festival", we will learn that IT is involved in various industries and occupations, and that occupations that utilize IT technology will change the world, if it becomes an opportunity for many women to play an active role in the IT field. Provide an opportunity.

On the day of the event, there will be panel discussions by IT engineers who are active in the medical field and people who have started businesses using IT technology as a means to solve social issues. We will also hold career lectures to hear how career choices lead to current work, and programming workshops to experience programming. * Contents are subject to change due to circumstances.

Participants are students aged 13 to 22 (mainly those with female identities, non-binary, GENDER NON CONFORMING, etc., regardless of body gender). Those who wish to participate should apply from the Peatix ticket by November 11st.The deadline for participatory projects such as programming workshops is November 21, and if the capacity is exceeded, a lottery will be held.
