The Earthquake Science Exploration Organization (President, Toshihiro Tachibana, Tokyo), which promotes earthquake prediction information services, has set up an electronic observation point for earthquakes at the Setagaya Campus of Tokyo University of Agriculture in Sakuragaoka, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo.This is the first electronic observation point in Tokyo and is expected to be effective in more accurate prediction of earthquakes.
According to Tokyo University of Agriculture, electronic stations can acquire 24-hour data in real time.The obtained data will be more advanced using artificial intelligence for three years from 2017 with the cooperation of Associate Professor Yoichi Kunii and Associate Professor Ayako Sekiyama of Tokyo Agricultural University, and Professor Emeritus Toshiharu Murai of the Earthquake Science Exploration Organization. It is used to establish a new earthquake prediction method.
The Earthquake Science Exploration Organization is currently one of the world's largest private companies for earthquake prediction with more than 6 users.We have advancedly analyzed the electronic reference point data of 1,300 Geographical Survey Institutes nationwide and used it for earthquake prediction.However, since there is a time lag in this data, we have set up our own electronic observation points nationwide with the cooperation of NTT DoCoMo.
The Tokyo University of Agriculture Setagaya Campus is located on a strong ground that is different from riverbeds, and because the sky is open, it was selected as the most suitable for the conditions of the installation location.With the installation of electronic observation points this time, the Seismic Science Exploration Organization will have 18 unique observation points.
