Tokyo Keizai University will co-sponsor a week (excluding Saturdays and Sundays) from June 2021th to July 6th, 29 with the Rotary Club of Tokyo Musashi Kokubunji to provide groceries to students who are in need of living due to corona. We are implementing a food bank business that distributes free of charge.
The groceries to be distributed were collected by purchase or donation by the Rotary Club of Tokyo Musashi Kokubunji with the cooperation of Workers Corp., a specified non-profit organization, Tamasakai Store of Metro C & C Japan Co., Ltd., and Sanyo Foods Co., Ltd.The collected food is about 9,000 meals.Preliminary questionnaires will be conducted on rice, instant noodles, pasta, local vegetables, canned foods, retort pouch foods, etc. and distributed to the target students.
During the period, in order to prevent new coronavirus infections, sufficient indoor ventilation will be provided, the distribution distance will be maintained, and hand disinfection will be carried out.In addition, admission is by appointment, and about 30 people visit each time.
The students in the second year of the Faculty of Business Administration who came to the venue on the first day said, "I live alone, but I am not satisfied with my part-time job because of the corona, so I have to rely on remittance. "I am glad that you have provided us with such a variety of foods. I hope that you will continue to do so on a regular basis."
This initiative aims not only to support the lives of students, but also to eliminate food loss, which is currently a problem.
