Chubu University's "Education on Aircraft Design and Manufacturing Technology through Active Learning for Learning to Make Airplanes" was adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "2018 Aerospace Science and Technology Promotion Consignment Fund" aerospace human resources development program.
The "Aerospace Science and Technology Promotion Consignment Fee" aims to expand the base by making efforts to open up new possibilities for aerospace development and utilization, such as human resource development that supports the development of aerospace development and utilization.
We are soliciting three types of programs from universities nationwide: "Space Cooperation Center Formation Program", "Aerospace Human Resources Development Program", and "Space Utilization Technology Creation Program". In FY3, a total of 2018 programs were proposed, and 21 were adopted, including Chubu University's aerospace human resource development program "Aircraft design and manufacturing technology education through active learning to learn by making airplanes."
The aerospace human resources development program proposed by Chubu University starts with the production of elementary gliders for participating students. While making an airplane with your own hands and discovering issues, you will practice aviation human resource development by active learning to independently learn the concept and theory of airplane design in the lecture.
Furthermore, as the next step, depending on the field of interest through the production of the elementary glider, more actual passenger aircraft such as electrification of the maneuvering system, weight reduction by composite material, structural analysis by CATIA, development of flight simulator, etc. Work on near-developing themes. In addition, we will make a demonstration flight of the manufactured elementary glider, develop outreach activities for the next generation of junior high school and high school students, and strive to discover potential human resources. The program will be implemented from 2018 to 2020 (3 years).
