Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo has resumed accepting students from overseas, which had been suspended during the summer semester (starting in May) and the fall semester (starting at the end of August) in 2020.A total of 5 students came to Japan.

Foreign students entering Japan are required to take daily temperature measurements and live in isolation for 14 days immediately after arriving in Japan, and are not allowed to use public transportation during the isolation period. Therefore, TUJ prepared for the acceptance of students in preparation for the start of classes from January 2021, and actually started accepting international students one after another. However, due to the rapid increase in the number of people infected with corona in Japan, a new border measure was decided by the Japanese government on December 1, 2020, and the acceptance of international students was restricted from December 12.

However, according to the policy that if you have a visa obtained by December 12, you can enter the country by January 27, there are students who want to study at TUJ in a hurry to discuss with the U.S. main school even in this difficult situation. As long as the university decides to accept students.I consulted with the students and their families and decided to accept them if they could enter Japan by January 1rd.As a result, 3 students visited Japan during this period. In addition, 1 students were accepted from 3 countries / regions that were not regulated by border measures at the end of December because the infection was "calm".

Students who enter Japan will stay in TUJ's dormitory for 14 days during the isolation period. While the student dormitory director regularly looks around, students spend all day in their room, and the only outing is to buy food once a day.The TUJ Student Services Department has devised events such as relaxation and parties that you can participate in online so that you can have a hard and isolated life as much as possible.

The restrictions on the acceptance of international students are still ongoing, but TUJ is preparing to accept students from overseas for the summer semester starting in May as soon as the restrictions are lifted.

* 125 students include new students from the spring semester, short-term international students, and students who started online from overseas in the fall semester.
