A research group led by Jun Ichikawa, assistant professor at the Faculty of Informatics, Shizuoka University, has started crowdfunding for research to elucidate the basis of cooperativeness from BBQ.

In my daily life, there are times when things that I thought I could do with this member did not progress, and the progress of myself and the group next to me differed. Our research group will clarify the mechanism of cooperation that cannot be explained only by the number of years of experience, from the viewpoint of division of labor and interaction. The purpose is to statistically examine the characteristics of successful groups based on field measurements of familiar social activities.

BBQ is prone to troubles such as the charcoal not igniting, and in order to have a fun meal in a limited time such as lunch, there is a division of labor naturally, and it is necessary to understand the surrounding situation. While the division of labor, understanding of the surrounding situation, and dealing with troubles are similar to group sports, the difference is that the environment is natural and the roles are undecided, and the individual has a higher degree of freedom and quotas are not necessarily clear. BBQ can be said to be an interesting subject for academic study of cooperativeness.

Specifically, 4 or 5 people were put into a group to observe the process of BBQ activities such as setting up, cooking, eating, and cleaning up.Add annotations about troubles and the roles of each member, referring to the conversations and actions from the video taken on the ground. Then, we set hypotheses about the division of labor and interactions of the groups that responded that they were able to cook in a short time or that they had fun doing the activity in a questionnaire. After that, the hypothesis is verified by analyzing the movement of the group from the time-series data of the position of the tools and individuals acquired in the overhead video.By analyzing group movements like sports science and biology, and discussing the division of labor and interaction in association with conversations and questionnaires, it is expected that connections with cognitive science and psychology will be realized, and cooperative research will develop. be.

Since the research group is a challenging initiative, it is necessary to proceed with exploratory research, and because there are aspects where it is difficult to spend with normal research expenses such as procurement of equipment and ingredients, it is necessary to secure a budget that can be used flexibly. Do crowdfunding. The funds will be used for procurement of equipment and ingredients, rewards for part-time workers who cooperate in preparatory work for analysis, English proofreading costs for submitting papers, publication costs, etc.The target amount is 60 yen, and we are recruiting in an All or Nothing format that can be received only if the target amount is exceeded within the period. The application period is January 2023, 1 (Wednesday) 25:10 to March 3, 23 (Thursday) 17:XNUMX.
