Mei Nagaoka, a second-year student in the Department of Childcare and Children at Tokyo University of Social Welfare, has decided to participate in the "2th Asian Roller Sports Championship" to be held in South Korea in September 2018.
Mr. Nagaoka started the competition as an elementary school student longing for roller shoes. At university, he also belongs to a tennis club, and he balances his studies and intense roller skating practice, such as studying early in the morning and using empty tops, and is working hard for more than five days a week, including training at the gym.
The May tournament also serves as the "5 World Championship National Team Players / Asian Games National Team Player Selection Committee", and as a representative of Japan at the "2018th Asian Roller Sports Championships" to be held in Namwon, South Korea in September. It was decided to participate.
Efforts made by careful preparation for the tournament, such as daily adjustments such as start practice, form correction, and dietary restrictions, which I am not good at, and slipping 10,000m to improve endurance, have paid off. “The wind I feel when I'm slipping is very nice. It's really fun to glide while looking at the surrounding scenery,” says Nagaoka.
