The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Council for the Establishment of Universities and School Corporations has reported to the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Masahiko Shibayama to approve the establishment of an international fashion professional university and a Yamazaki animal nursing professional junior college.Professional universities and junior colleges can be established from 2019 due to the enforcement of the revised School Education Law, and a total of three schools will be opened following the previously approved Kochi Rehabilitation Professional University.
According to the Ministry of Education, the International Fashion College is located on the Tokyo campus in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, with the Department of Fashion Creation and Fashion Business, on the Osaka campus in Kita-ku, Osaka, with the Department of Osaka Fashion Creation and Business, and on the Nagoya campus in Nakamura-ku, Nagoya. Established Nagoya Fashion Creation Business Department.
The enrollment capacity is 80 for the fashion creation department on the Tokyo campus and 3 for each of the other three departments.Seiichi Kondo, a former Commissioner for Cultural Affairs and Deputy Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), will be appointed as the president.
