An illumination was set up at "Okabe Kibogaoka Park" in front of the south exit of Okabe Station on the JR Takasaki Line in collaboration with volunteers of students who are interested in the illuminations of Saitama Institute of Technology and the Youth Club of the Fukaya City Chamber of Commerce. The lighting ceremony was held on December 2018, 12.
The Illuminations Project was held for the 9th time this year, with university students and the Fukaya City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Department collaborating on a series of work from the production of illuminations to installation. With each round, we have improved the level of light production, decoration, and scale.
The illuminations this time are decorated with a total of about 9 LEDs, including a 16m-high main tree and a 25,000m-long light corridor (tunnel). In the corridor of light, it senses the passage of people and automatically changes the color scheme of the light. In addition to using commercially available LED decorations, it is also characterized by the fact that many decorations that students have made by hand are installed by utilizing the knowledge and experience learned at industrial universities.
The venue, Kibogaoka Park on the south side of Okabe Station, is the closest station to Saitama Institute of Technology, and since many students use it for commuting to school, we are aiming for social contribution activities that will serve as a conduit between the university and the community through illuminations. The illuminations will be on every day from sunset to 2019:1 until January 31, 22.
