On January 2024, 1, the Waseda University Admission Center announced information regarding the entrance examination fee exemption and reduction/exemption system for admission fees and tuition fees for applicants affected by the 4 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.

Waseda University provides as many opportunities as possible to applicants from disaster-stricken areas (areas to which the Disaster Relief Act applies) who wish to enroll, in accordance with its own "Detailed Regulations Concerning Tuition Reduction and Exemption for Students Affected by Disasters, etc." To ensure this, depending on the disaster situation, we have a system in place to exempt entrance examination fees and enrollment fees, and to reduce and exempt tuition fees.

For the 2024 entrance exam, this will apply to the areas covered by the Relief Act for the 2023 Noto Peninsula Earthquake, in addition to the seven disasters that occurred in 7, such as earthquakes, wind and flood damage, and power outages.

Please note that due to the time it takes for the university to review the application, applications for exemption or exemption should be made after January 1 for the undergraduate general selection/common test entrance examination, where the application period is until January 19th (Friday). In this case, you will be required to pay the examination fee once. If the examination results in a reduction or exemption, a refund will be processed at a later date.

Applicants who are eligible must check the criteria for exemption or reduction in advance before applying. Additionally, if you are unable to prepare your certificates in time for the application deadline, we urge you to consult with the Admissions Center individually well in advance of the application deadline.

For details on the areas covered by the Disaster Relief Act and the reduction/exemption system, please check the Waseda University Admission Center's ``Examination Fee/Tuition Fee Reduction/Exemption Due to Disasters.''
