As the 18-year-old population declines and the management of private universities becomes more difficult, Kobe Yamate University and Kansai University of International Studies have decided to integrate in April 2020 by utilizing the new system for university integration of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.Kobe Yamate University, a college of technology, will transfer its faculty to become the Kobe Yamate Campus of Kansai University of International Studies, and Kobe Yamate Gakuen, which operates Kobe Yamate University, and Hamana Gakuin, which operates Kansai University of International Studies, will also merge.
