Due to the confusion of the English private exams that will be introduced into the Common Test for University Admissions, the National College of Technology Staff Union has issued a statement calling for postponement of the introduction to the 2021 entrance exams and reconsidering whether or not to introduce it after 2022.
The statement is the name of the Central Executive Committee of the National University College of Technology Staff Union.According to it, one student can take the English private exam up to twice, and the earliest one is scheduled to be held from April 1, but the specific schedule and venue will be revealed even half a year before the exam. He pointed out that the confusion is spreading to the examinees and the university.
Some English private exams cannot be taken in rural areas, and an examination fee is required in addition to the common test for university admission, placing students living in rural areas or in financially distressed households at a disadvantage. He strongly criticizes the current situation if he cannot wipe out his concerns.
Until the 2024 entrance exam, it is possible to take the English test in a common test in parallel with the use of the English private exam, so the 2021 entrance exam will be for the English private exam.
Instead of utilizing the test, it is necessary to reconsider whether or not it can be implemented after 2022 and the contents.
Regarding the English private examination, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has submitted a request to carry out the examination as scheduled by the Japan Private Junior High School and High School Association, while the National Association of High School Directors is on the side of examinees and high schools. He is calling for a postponement of the introduction because he has not been able to resolve his anxiety.
