Kobe City has started to build and operate a collaborative system that summarizes individual health care data such as health examinations, medical care, and long-term care, which have been recorded separately. This is the first time in Japan that a collaborative system has been built for the active use of data, and it is expected to be effective in improving health, such as predicting illnesses that may occur in the future.

According to Kobe City, the linked data is a list of medical / nursing care receipt data such as medical fees and long-term care benefit expense statements, health examination data, long-term care certification questionnaires, vaccination status, move-in / move-out / death dates, etc.By using the data combination program developed by Kyushu University, various data were linked for each individual.

As a result, it has become possible to comprehensively analyze various personal data from the past to the present. In addition to being able to accurately grasp the health status and lifestyle of citizens, it has paved the way for predicting the onset of lifestyle-related diseases and conditions requiring nursing care, and for effective approaches for people who are likely to be in need of nursing care in the future.
Furthermore, by anonymizing data to academic institutions and obtaining feedback, it is possible to obtain advanced knowledge that can be used for health promotion measures.

As the first step of data analysis using this system, a group of Associate Professor Haruhisa Fukuda of the Graduate School of Medicine, Kyushu University has collected medical receipt data from Kobe City and the number of cases of catheter surgery for heart attacks. The comparison was made separately before and after.

As a result, it was found that although the number of catheter operations themselves decreased after the epidemic of infectious diseases, the rate of urgent catheter operations did not change.
