As a result of examining the factors related to the motivation for exercise in the support facility for persons with disabilities, Mr. Yasuhiro Inui (Doctoral Program) and Professor Shu Morioka of Kio University Graduate School have examined the factors related to the motivation for exercise, and as a result, the motor function and self-efficacy have been regarded as important in the past. It was revealed that social support is more related to motivation than feeling.

At support facilities for persons with disabilities, it is necessary to engage in exercise for the purpose of maintaining and improving physical function in order to realize social participation. However, admission can be as long as 18 months or longer, and motivation must be maintained. It is said that motivation is related to personal factors and social support, and it is further classified into autonomous motivation based on one's own will and judgment and controlled motivation caused by external incentives, and it is necessary to evaluate from both. ..

Therefore, the research group evaluated the motivation for exercise by classifying it into autonomous motivation and controlled motivation using a questionnaire for the residents of the support facility for persons with disabilities. In addition, the personal factors (motor ability, self-efficacy) and social support (family support, facility support, peer support) of facility residents are evaluated by questionnaire, and autonomous motivation and control are performed. Factors predicting motivation were analyzed.

As a result, autonomous motivation was associated with family support and facility support, and control motivation was associated with peer support when family support was low, neither of which was associated with personal factors. ..

This time, it was shown that it is necessary for the residents of the support facility for persons with disabilities to coordinate and understand the relationships with their families and facility staff and the relationships between the residents in order to promote the efforts for the exercise. In the future, it will be necessary to verify the longitudinal changes after entering the facility.
