<Quadrant III, IV> Growth Outcome Needs
Quadrants III and IV are potential higher education institutions for high school students who are less motivated to improve their outcomes. In quadrants I and II, the absolute value of investment vs. outcome is valuable, but in quadrants III and IV, there seems to be more needs. In the future, the author believes that more investment-to-growth outcomes will be required.
Investment vs. growth outcomes should be defined as (learning outcomes-zest for life at the time of admission) ÷ tuition fees.In other words, although the motivation and ability at the time of admission is not high, the idea is that an educational institution that has the ability to increase the growth rate more than the outcome itself is valuable because the growth difference at the time of graduation is larger than at the time of admission due to the support of faculty members and the education system. is.The higher the growth rate per tuition fee, the higher the value.
In the field I have seen, there are certainly excellent educational institutions that have achieved excellent results with an emphasis on education that enhances growth.Once in the growth spiral, students acquire the confidence, motivation and habits to continue to improve themselves. You will continue to learn for the rest of your life and continue to grow for the rest of your life.
I would like to explore the possibilities of each quadrant on the premise of the needs common to the third and fourth quadrants.

<Quadrant III> Possibility of vocational support type university
Quadrant III is the possibility of a vocational support university aimed at maximizing investment-to-growth outcomes with low tuition fees for high school students who are less willing to increase their outcomes.
The point of higher education institutions in quadrant III is to maximize the benefits of obtaining vocational outcomes even in a short period of time (low tuition).Currently, the Central Council for Education Special Subcommittee is considering the establishment of a new higher education institution in 2019, "Professional Vocational University (tentative name) *" is expected to be the driving force.
※Ministry of education:Special Subcommittee on Institutionalization of New Higher Education Institutions for Practical Vocational Education
Until now, vocational schools have been responsible for this, but since it is newly positioned as a vocational university (Article 1 school), there is a possibility that national subsidies and scholarships from companies and local governments will be enhanced, resulting in low tuition fees and high outcomes. University appears.
The target students are those who do not have a desire to learn and grow on their own.How many opportunities can be provided for self-learning and growth by fostering independence through the "support of people" of faculty members and current students and the "power of the place" of the education system and campus. And the point is to maximize investment-to-growth outcomes.Utilization of active learning and learning support utilizing artificial intelligence will also be important.
By hiring human resources from industry as concurrent teachers, it will be possible to reduce labor costs and practice cutting-edge vocational education. It will be an institution that aims to anticipate changes in occupations due to the development of artificial intelligence and robots, and to acquire human power, specialized knowledge, and skills that can live in a new era.In addition, cost reduction by hybridizing with online learning will be effective in terms of management strategy.

<Quadrant IV> Possibility of Real Support University
Quadrant IV is the potential of a real-support university aimed at maximizing investment-to-growth outcomes by collecting high tuition fees for high school students who are less willing to increase their outcomes.
Competing universities that are externally pressured by higher education institutions in quadrant III are universities in quadrant I that have similar tuition fees and high outcomes in Japan.Higher education institutions located in this quadrant are the most likely positions to be weeded out. Most of the existing universities are in this position and are subject to a large amount of external pressure from selection. It cannot exist without a revolution in investment-to-growth outcomes.
The target students are those who do not have a desire to learn and grow on their own.Since the target group is those who have not yet drawn a career (moratorium group), it is necessary to enjoy university life and surely connect to employment.
How many opportunities can be provided for self-learning and growth by fostering independence through the "support of people" between faculty members and current students, the education system, and the "power of the place" of the campus. And the point is to maximize investment-to-growth outcomes.Thorough support from faculty and staff, which cannot be done at a university in quadrant III, will be required. In addition, the difference in learning support ability utilizing active learning and artificial intelligence is also an important factor.
It is also important to differentiate from the outcomes aimed at by higher education institutions in other quadrants. The point is to formulate a clear mission to develop human resources who can do what.
