 Last year, the impact of the development of artificial intelligence (AI) on human work caused a great deal of debate, involving not only industry but also the education community.This trend is expected to remain the same this year, with discussions expected to accelerate and become more realistic.

 Will AI rob people of their jobs, or will humanity get a tool called AI and live a more human-like life than ever before?In any case, what is becoming more and more important in such a society is the work of the human mind such as empathy, and what is required as a job is often an interpersonal support job such as medical care / welfare, education / childcare. Has been pointed out by an expert in the field.

 In Japan, where one in four people will be over 2025 years old in 4, the need for medical care and welfare is rapidly increasing.In accepting foreign workers, who are attracting more attention, interpersonal assistance is a central occupation, and there is an urgent need to develop leaders who can organize and train them.

 On the other hand, it is undeniable that many interpersonal assistance jobs tend to have a negative image of being labor-intensive.How to change this into a bright image that is in line with the actual situation, and how to change it into a profession that is full of hope and worth working.It is no exaggeration to say that this is an issue for Japan, and it also depends on how excellent human resources can be trained and produced by a university like us that trains interpersonal assistance.

Background and aim of undergraduate renewal

 Since the opening of the school, we have been focusing on developing human resources mainly involved in interpersonal assistance, with the educational philosophy of "human education that cultivates the spirit of independence and symbiosis" that developed the spirit of "respect, faith, and love". At our university, we are currently preparing for a major restructuring (reform) of the faculty / department system in 2020.

 This is, in part, to respond to the rapid sophistication and specialization of various academic fields related to interpersonal assistance.In recent years, not only in the medical and welfare fields, but also in the psychological field, changes are accelerating, with the birth of the first national qualification for psychology as a certified public psychologist.At the same time, the division of Health Psychology Department and Medical Psychology Department Clinical Development Psychology Department to learn psychology, and physical therapy (physical therapy department) and verbal hearing (medical psychology department) to learn medical technology are placed in different departments. By eliminating the incomprehensibleness, the appeal of the university is to challenge Japanese issues by fostering professionals who specialize in interpersonal assistance for various stakeholders such as examinees and their parents, high schools, communities, and companies. There is also a desire to convey value even more.

 Specifically, the Faculty of Health and Medical Care (tentative name) positions the training courses for physical therapists and speech therapists in the same faculty, and adds a new training course for occupational therapists to group the three fields of rehabilitation.We will integrate the two psychological areas of health psychology and medical psychology so far, and establish a psychology department (tentative name) with a view to acquiring a certified public psychologist qualification in collaboration with the graduate school. After establishing the identity of the field by establishing two pillars, health and hygiene (rehabilitation-related) with the philosophy of "guaranteeing human daily life" and psychology with the philosophy of "coexistence between humans". , I decided to aim for the sophistication and specialization of each education and research.

 The traditional Faculty of Human Sciences has incorporated the Department of Care and Welfare, which was in the Department of Medical Welfare, into the Department of Social Welfare, and has created a curriculum that corresponds to the three major national welfare qualifications of social workers, mental health workers, and certified care workers. Expand.In addition, the only orthoptist training course at a university in Kansai has an affinity for rehabilitation, but as before, we have majored in orthoptics training in the Department of Medical Welfare so that we can approach from both medical and welfare perspectives.

 In addition, in the Department of Childcare, in addition to nursery teachers and kindergarten teachers, you will also be able to obtain a license for elementary school teachers.

Aiming for the day when interpersonal assistance becomes a hero

 Currently, the Osaka Prefectural Board of Education is promoting the selection of "schools that you want to enter" and "schools that you are happy to enter" from "schools that you want to enter". In order to aim for this, we will further refine the good care that we have cultivated for nearly 20 years, and the students will be serious about their growth. 》 Aim for university.In addition, we would like to actively promote regional contributions and collaboration with the community, and also focus on industry-academia collaboration.

 In terms of education, we will further focus on developing "human resources who can lead team support" that have been cultivated under the one-faculty system.Similar to team medical care in medical care, interpersonal support jobs, including psychological and welfare jobs, nursery teachers and teachers, are now in an era of multidisciplinary collaboration.At our university, in the latter half of the year, all of us are already taking "Human Science Exercise II" in which all departments take relay lectures in mixed department classes and hold discussions.This class is becoming more common in team medical education, but it is still rare in interpersonal support training, and it is one of the characteristics of our education. I would like to develop it.

 In response to globalization and acceptance of foreigners, we have been soliciting applicants from two years ago and started a six-day long-term care training "Vietnam Hanoi Internship".Through on-site training, we will deepen our understanding of long-term care personnel accepted from overseas and have them utilize them for their management.

 In order to contribute to improving the employment conditions for interpersonal assistance jobs and improving the image as a profession, we aim to be a "university that fosters" professionals in interpersonal assistance "who can lead team support and take on challenges in Japan." ..For that purpose, in the "New Five-Year Plan (5-2019)" from the next fiscal year, the theme is "Future course tour-near future, interpersonal assistance will be a hero", and the future will be a longing for children.
