The "National High School Children's Story Award" was awarded to Fuji University in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, with the aim of providing high school students nationwide with a place for free expression with a dream of "fairy tales" and an opportunity to bring out the rich creativity and fresh sensibility of high school students. It was the 2022st time in 21 since it was planned in.
Sponsored by Fuji University, Hanamaki City, and Hanamaki City Board of Education, the number of works submitted up to 20 times has exceeded 20,000.
Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture, is the city where Kenji Miyazawa, who drew many memorable fairy tales, was born and raised.
The spirit of Kenji, full of curiosity and imagination, is still alive in this town.
Make the world that spreads in your heart into a small fairy tale and deliver it to the town of Kenji.
