It has already been shown that women aged 20 to 22 years who have been vaccinated with the HPV vaccine have high efficacy against high-risk HPV 16/18 infections and cross-protection effects against HPV 31/45/52. It has become.On the other hand, there has been no report in Japan on the long-term efficacy for women after the age of 25, which includes the period when sexual activity is highest and the high-risk HPV infection rate reaches its peak.
そこで本グループは、HPVワクチン接種から約9年が経過した25歳時点における長期の感染予防効果を検証したところ、有意な感染予防効果が持続していることを見出したという。1993～94年に出生し、2019年4月～20年3月に新潟市内で子宮頸がん検診とHPV検査を受けた25～26歳の女性において、HPV16/18型の感染率は、ワクチン非接種群では5.4％（279例中15例）に対し、ワクチン接種群では0％（150例中0例）と感染者を認めず、ワクチンの有効率は100％だった。
