The Center for Educational Innovation, Tokyo Institute of Technology has awarded certificates to 12 graduate student assistants who are involved in the bachelor's degree curriculum in collaboration with faculty members. This is the first time that a graduate student has been awarded a GSA (Graduate Student Assistant) program certification award as a graduate of the GSA program that cultivates facilitation and leadership through learning support.
According to the Tokyo Institute of Technology, the award ceremony was held at the West Building 9 of the Ookayama Campus in Meguro-ku, Tokyo, and 12 out of 9 graduates attended. After Akira Matsuzawa, Director of the Center for Educational Innovation, gave a congratulatory address, he handed a certificate to each of the graduates who attended.
The GSA program has three courses: a facilitator to develop facilitation skills, a reviewer to develop the ability to support students' writing activities, and a developer to acquire the skills to produce online teaching materials.
All of the graduates this time have been certified as facilitators.Learn about leadership at the "Leadership Dojo", a graduate school liberal arts course offered by the Liberal Arts Institute of Research and Education, and participate in the "Tokyo Tech Ritsushi Project", a compulsory course for first-year bachelor's degree students. Tokyo Institute of Technology has a policy of building a "learning community" where bachelor's degree students, graduate students, and faculty members can learn from each other on a university-wide scale. We expect graduate student assistants to support faculty members and become the core of the community.
