 In recent years, in the field of network security, there has been an increase in internal infections through targeted attacks and unauthorized intrusions into organizational networks that exploit vulnerabilities in VPN devices.Even in an environment without internet connection, damage from cyber-attacks using poorly managed IoT devices as an intrusion point has occurred.Perimeter-type security measures such as conventional firewalls are not sufficient, and measures must be taken at each site (edge ​​area) of an organization's network.

 As a result of many years of joint research on communication traffic analysis, the research group has developed a technology that can determine the connection of IoT devices in real time by acquiring the communication characteristics of devices in a timely manner.When applied to large-scale network monitoring at the Sugimoto Campus of Osaka Public University, the type of connected device can be immediately identified with 97.7% accuracy by learning traffic data from a wide variety of devices, including IoT devices such as network cameras and printers. did it.

 In addition, Oki Electric Industry has a "communication irregularity detection function" that detects deviations from the normal communication state, a "vulnerability scan function" that detects inadequate settings of devices in the network and easy ID / password, We have developed a "real-time network monitoring system" equipped with a "monitoring GUI" that visualizes device connections and communication traffic and notifies the administrator.
