Alumnote, a startup company originating from the University of Tokyo that aims to expand universities' means of raising funds, will hold an online event called "Giving Campaign 2023" from October 2023, 10 to November 23, with the aim of fostering a culture of donation. Open until the 11th.

According to Almnote, student organizations such as laboratories and clubs will be calling for votes and donations through a special website for one week during the event. The more votes each organization receives, the more support it receives from the event's partner companies.

During the three-week event period, the first week will feature 3 universities including Tohoku University, Hiroshima University, Kyushu University, and Otsuma Women's University, the second week will feature eight universities including Kyoto University, Shimane University, Meiji University, and Ritsumeikan University, and the third week will feature 1 universities including Tohoku University, Hiroshima University, Kyushu University, and Otsuma Women's University. Twelve schools will appear, including Tokyo University of the Arts, Osaka University, Kanazawa University, and Seinan Gakuin University.

This event is the fourth since the first one in 2021.Over the past three events, a total of approximately 1 people and approximately 4 million yen in donations have been received for 3 organizations at 31 universities. This year, 950 universities and approximately 19 organizations will participate, the largest number ever.

The environment surrounding university management is becoming increasingly difficult due to the declining birthrate and declining support from the government.Along with this, the budget provided to student organizations such as laboratories and clubs has been decreasing. The current predicament is said to be exacerbated by the fact that there are fewer donations to universities and student organizations than in Europe and the United States.
