In response to the designation of four prefectures in the Hokuriku region, including Ishikawa, as areas to which the Disaster Relief Act applies, the Japan Student Services Organization has adopted grant-type scholarships for students from households in the applicable areas due to sudden changes in family finances, as well as emergency and emergency adoption of loan-type scholarships. We have begun accepting requests for reduced refunds or postponement of refund deadlines from those who have returned their scholarships, as well as applications for support from students whose housing has been more than partially destroyed.

According to the Japan Student Services Organization, students enrolled in higher education institutions such as universities and junior colleges are eligible for assistance, and a disaster victim certificate is required to apply. Scholarships for students whose household finances have suddenly changed are limited to students in areas covered by the Disaster Relief Act, and grant-type scholarships and loan-type scholarships are provided depending on the household's annual income. Applications for grant-type scholarships will be accepted until the end of March, and applications for loan-type scholarships will be accepted until the end of December.

Reduced repayments and postponed repayment deadlines are available to students who have difficulty repaying dues due to the earthquake. Disaster relief funds will be provided to students and those making a living whose housing is more than partially destroyed. The amount of support is 10 yen. There is no obligation to return the money. International students can also apply, and applications will be accepted until the end of July.

Seventeen cities and towns in Ishikawa Prefecture were designated as areas to which the Disaster Relief Act applies, including Kanazawa City, Suzu City, Wajima City, Nanao City, Shiga Town, and Noto Town, and Niigata Prefecture was designated as Niigata City, Joetsu City, Itoigawa City, and Izumozaki Town. 17 cities and towns in Toyama Prefecture, including Toyama City, Takaoka City, Himi City, Funahashi Village, and Kamiichi Town, and 14 cities in Fukui Prefecture, including Fukui City, Awara City, and Sakai City.
