A survey by the Association of National Universities found that the ratio of female faculty members at national universities will reach 2023% in 19.3, an increase of 0.6 points from the previous year. Among comprehensive universities, Yamagata University and Kyoto University, among science and technology universities, Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, and among liberal arts, medical, and education universities, Hitotsubashi University and Tokyo Gakugei University showed remarkable growth.

 According to the Association of National Universities, the percentage of female faculty members is 19.2% at general universities, 12.7% at science and technology universities, and 26.1% at liberal arts, medical, and education universities. As before, liberal arts, medical, and education universities had high rates, while science and technology universities had low rates.

 There are three universities where the ratio of female faculty members has increased by more than 1 points in one year: Yamagata University (2 points), Kyoto University, and Ehime University (2.5 points each). Among science and technology universities, Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine scored only 2.1 points. There were four universities in liberal arts, medicine, and education: Hitotsubashi University with 3 points, Tokyo Gakugei University with 2.3 points, Miyagi University of Education with 4.3 points, and Nara University of Education with 3.4 points.
