Chiba University of Commerce, through Minna Denryoku Co., Ltd., will gradually switch the power used on the Ichikawa campus to power derived from renewable energy from August 2019, 8.
The university aims to become Japan's first "100% renewable energy university" in order to cooperate in environmental conservation such as global warming countermeasures. The Mega Solar Noda Power Plant has been in operation since 12 as a practice in the energy of the 2014th "Responsibility to Create and Responsibility to Use" of the United Nations SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). In January 2019, the amount of power generated by the university's own solar power generation facilities, centered on the power plant, exceeded the amount of power consumption, achieving 1% of electricity production.
By using the blockchain "P2P power traceability system" of Minna Denryoku Co., Ltd., we will prove that FIT electricity of the power plant will be supplied to the Ichikawa campus. In addition, the shortage of electricity will be supplemented by other FIT electricity and renewable energy electricity, and a non-fossil certificate with tracking will realize a renewable energy utilization rate of 100%. By 2020, the entire university is working on it with the goal of generating electricity equivalent to all energy consumption including gas.
