The effect of increasing human coronavirus antibody on seaweed Aosa is that Professor Toshio Kawahara of Chubu University Faculty of Life and Health Sciences, Visiting Professor Kyoko Hayashi of Chubu University Graduate School of Engineering, Chemical Manufacturer Gangnam Kako, Seaweed Health It was found in a joint study by the Ramnan Institute, which studies the effects. The research group hopes that it will also be effective against the new coronavirus that causes new pneumonia.
According to Chubu University, the virus has either DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) or RNA (ribonucleic acid) as a gene and proliferates by parasitizing living cells. The surface is divided into a type that is covered with a protein or fat film called an envelope and a type that is not covered, but human coronavirus, new coronavirus, influenza A virus, etc. have an envelope and RNA in common.
Since no animals could be used for human coronavirus infection experiments, the research group infected mice with influenza A virus, which has an envelope and RNA, and investigated the effects of ramnan sulfate contained in Aosa.As a result, it was found that the amount of virus was halved after 3 days, and the amount of antibody was about 7 times higher in 1.5 days and about 14 times higher in 2.3 days than in mice given no antibody.
The research group believes that ramnan sulfate inhibits the protein in the virus envelope from adhering to living cells, activates immune cells and promotes antibody production, and will be specially designed for coronavirus control in the future. We will also consider the development of commercialized products.
