Kwansei Gakuin University has signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Snow Peak, a comprehensive outdoor manufacturer, and will start full-scale efforts to integrate nature and education, centering on the creation of new learning venues that incorporate camping elements.
According to Kwansei Gakuin University, the agreement presentation will be held online on June 2020, 6 (Wednesday), connecting the Kwansei Gakuin University Kobe Mita Campus in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, and the Snow Peak Headquarters in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture. President of Kwansei Gakuin University, President of Snow Peak Yamai and others attended and talked about the aim of the agreement.
"Camping Campus" is the centerpiece of the cooperation included in the agreement.Efforts to provide new learning time and space by removing restrictions and boundaries such as students and faculty members, universities and society, human society and nature barriers, places and times.Incorporate extraordinary things such as camping tents and bonfires into the daily life of a university campus, and foster students who can innovate with free ideas.
In addition, Professor Noriko Nagata of the Faculty of Science and Engineering quantifies the value of the invisible sensibilities of excitement obtained through the camp experience.We are planning to carry out joint research to utilize the knowledge gained there for new learning opportunities and product development for Snow Peak.
Students and Snow Peak will also work on the joint development of My Bottle, aiming to reduce the amount of PET bottles consumed at the Kobe Mita Campus.
