Kio University held a "distance lesson briefing session" for faculty members and staff, including part-time employees, on September 2020th and 9th, 9. It was also planned as an FD (Faculty Development) workshop in 10, and about 2020 faculty members participated in two days (excluding on-demand participation).

Originally, Kio University, which lends notebook PCs to all students free of charge, started the first semester on the usual schedule, centering on distance learning, except for classes where face-to-face correspondence is indispensable. On the other hand, it has been decided that the latter half of the class will be a "hybrid type" in which distance lessons are used together with face-to-face lessons.

At the briefing session, in order to make the distance lessons held in the second half more effective in education, we will reconfirm how to use OpenCEAS (class support type learning system) used at the university and introduce tools that can be used for distance lessons. In addition, we shared information such as the results of the "distance lesson questionnaire" conducted to students at the end of the previous term, ideas for previous lessons, and successful cases.

According to the student questionnaire, "I'm not comfortable, but I don't feel a lot of stress" was the most common answer at 46.8%, and when combined with "I don't feel any particular stress and I'm comfortable". It was found that nearly 6% of the students are proceeding with their studies steadily. On the other hand, the remaining 4% of the students have some kind of stress, so we confirmed each other as a future task that should be taken seriously.

Among the "task presentation type", "on-demand type", and "interactive type" distance lessons, the one that attracted the most support from students was the "on-demand type", which allows students to watch freely at their own timing. It turned out.In addition, we shared various opinions of the students, such as that half of the students found it more difficult to ask questions than face-to-face lessons, and that the presence or absence of feedback affected their satisfaction.

At the end, discussions were held on experiences and questions about distance learning, and it was a valuable forum for exchanging opinions for the management of distance learning in the latter half of the year.At Kio University, we will make efforts to maximize the new possibilities of distance learning, and will proceed with the lessons while balancing them with face-to-face lessons.
