The Japan Science and Technology Agency has adopted the plans of the NPO Biwako Trust with four universities including Ehime University and Osaka Prefecture University for the 2016 next-generation scientist training program.It supports the implementation and development of educational programs that focus on further developing the motivation and abilities of junior high school students who excel in the field of science and mathematics, and aims to develop promising science and technology human resources in the future.
Shizuoka University cultivates the creativity of students through the "Shizuoka STEM Junior Project".Nagasaki University will develop an educational program that fosters collaboration while giving participants deep knowledge through the "Next Generation Scientist Development Program with Autonomy and Team Mind".
The Biwako Trust, entitled "The Forefront of Earth Sciences Learned from Lake Biwa," invites experts from five universities around Lake Biwa, including Kyoto University and Ritsumeikan University, to teach the latest earth sciences.
There were 2016 applications from all over Japan for the open recruitment of selected organizations in fiscal 10, and the promotion committee consisting of outside experts examined the contents and selected 5 applications.
