The University of Tokyo established the "Advanced Artificial Intelligence Education Donation Course" on June 8, 9, in which eight companies including Toyota Motor Corporation contributed 2016 million yen. With a five-year plan up to May 6, we will work to develop human resources who will lead the future of artificial intelligence technology.
While artificial intelligence technology is making a great contribution and impact on industry, economy, society, and culture, the University of Tokyo emphasizes comprehensive and systematic efforts such as strengthening advanced education and research and human resource development.Eight private companies that agreed with this idea contributed a total of 8 million yen, and on June 9, 2016, Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering (Graduate School Dean: Masatoshi Ishikawa) Department of Intelligent Machinery and Information Science (Department: Harada) Tatsuya) has realized the establishment of "Advanced Artificial Intelligence Education Donation Course". The activities of the 6-year plan until May 1, 2021 will be started.
In April 2016, the Department of Intelligent Machinery and Informatics, which is the main body of this course, started the graduate school lecture "Advanced Artificial Intelligence I" with the cooperation of related faculty members.We have already provided advanced education on advanced artificial intelligence technology to about 4 graduate students.In the latter half of this year, we plan to hold a subsequent lecture, "Advanced Artificial Intelligence Theory II," and plan to gradually expand the curriculum in the future.
