Hanada Seminar (Associate Professor Taihei Hanada), who belongs to the Faculty of Foreign Studies at Reitaku University, will hold a "reading camp" online on March 2021, 3 (Wednesday), where students and faculty members will discuss the "difficulty of living" in modern society. It will be held at.

A "reading camp" where students and faculty members have deep dialogues that they cannot usually do, with fiction dealing with social themes such as gender and disabilities as a clue.In addition to the students who belong to Associate Professor Hanada's "Specialized Seminar", the students of the "Self-Planning Seminar", which was established by the seminar system to select the instructor and make a learning plan, support the students with disabilities at the university. This is the first attempt co-sponsored by the staff of the CDS (Center for disabled Students) who is the contact person.

This time, we will read the topic "Push, Burning Yu (written by Rin Usami)", which won the 164th Akutagawa Prize, and discuss the "difficulty of living" that is prevalent in modern society.I hope that the students will find their own role model by organizing the unpleasant feelings that are difficult to put into words by themselves through dialogue with peers.

Associate Professor Hanada said, "There were many new students who couldn't really feel as a member of the university because they couldn't receive the support of their seniors because of the corona.I was reminded that the university campus is also a place to provide a continuous connection of student peer support such as "senior" and "junior".In order to keep that connection, I would like to start with what I can do in the form of this camp. "

In the future, Hanada Seminar will continue to collaborate with CDS to improve students' basic academic ability through dialogue and to create a platform where students and faculty members can freely exchange opinions in order to develop dialogue facilitators and peer supporters. Also, as a sister edition of the project, we are considering the implementation of a "philosophy camp" that adopts the framework of philosophy dialogue.
