Associate Professor Yasumasa Omori of Joetsu University of Education and Castalia Co., Ltd. * announced that they will conduct joint research on the training of programming education instructors, and how to teach programming education in public education in elementary schools, junior high schools, and high schools. We aim to make proposals and build step-by-step instructional content.
In the joint research, from October 2015 to September 10, we plan to develop a teaching method, methodization in education, and human resources training curriculum using Castalia's mobile learning platform "Goocus".Considering what is linked to public education and private education, Castalia will develop an ecosystem of IT human resources and production centered on programming education.
Associate Professor Omori, who conducts research on the development of educational methods and support systems that utilize IT from kindergarten to high school, commented on this joint research as follows.
"Programming education is becoming more popular for elementary and junior high school students, but when children receive experiential programming education and are interested in moving on to the next, choosing the right programming course is not possible. It is still difficult, and the tendency is more serious in regions other than metropolitan areas, partly due to the lack of leaders. This joint research is related to human resource development of programming education leaders, public education and private education. It is said that both of them are one of the urgent issues. For various issues in this field, we will introduce a new educational method that combines the research we have been working on and the mobile learning platform "Goocus" owned by Castalia Co., Ltd. I'm hoping that we can develop it and present a way to solve the problem. "
