Freedom academic style and WINDOW concept based on dialogue
President Juichi Yamagiwa: Kyoto University is traditionally known for its liberal arts based on dialogue, but my first motto was to create a university with students as the main characters.Students actively interact with each other, deepen their learning, think about interesting things, and challenge them. "Interesting" is called "Omoroi" in the Kansai dialect, but for people from Kanto like me, the nuances of these two words are slightly different. The former is rather easy to complete within myself, and the latter expects people to tell me.Not only do you think and develop ideas that might be of interest to you, but you also talk to them and try to surprise them a little. If you get back "Omoroi-yan", you'll get my heart.
In fact, the dialogue begins here.
Dialogue is different from debate, and you don't decide whether to win or lose. You may change your opinion on the way.Pursuing originality is one of the traditions of Kyoto University, but it does not mean that you should think in your own shell and enjoy yourself. It is necessary to entertain people, have them say Omoroi, and talk with their peers and seniors. And the word that my teacher Kinji Imanishi * XNUMX liked to use, but it gets even more momentum when it is encouraged by "Do it all."
The WINDOW concept was designed to further develop this tradition of Kyoto University.
