■ Most of the articles and contributions in the education industry are critical and negative.

Due to my previous job, I decided to contribute to a column on this site.
So from what perspective do you develop the column?I started thinking.

The author was a company that got a job as a member of society and immediately started a business related to university education 10 years before retirement, but since he is still a university education-related business, he has been working for less than 30 years in university education-related business. I will be allowed to eat.If you check the business cards, there are business cards of nearly 500 universities, which means that you have some relationship with more than half of the universities in Japan.

However, I have always thought about it for the last 30 years. For some reason, many articles and posts related to education, including those related to universities, are critical and negative.

Education may be influenced by the deep-rooted thinking that "this should be".I also feel that such thinking has one side that makes education and learning feel stiff and painful.

■ Is learning hard?

The philosophy of the company I started is as follows.
"Exploring the value of learning and realizing a prosperous society. 』\

By learning, you will notice something new.I don't think I'm the only one who realizes that growth and change bring to me, and that growth and change also brings to me a rich feeling. On the other hand, it is easy to fall into the feeling that learning is painful or troublesome.

Opportunities and places for learning are falling in places.
Learn through work at the company and also in relationships.
At home, it is often taught not only by parents but also by children.
In a sense, school has less opportunities to learn.

Is learning hard?If there is no place for learning in the world ...Such a phrase exists in Hyakunin Isshu.

"If there are no cherry blossoms in the world, the heart of spring will be calm."

It is a phrase that paradoxically praises the existence of a wonderful flower called cherry blossoms, while saying that spring can live more peacefully if there are no cherry blossoms in the world.

It may be nonsense to argue whether learning is hard or fun. There is a wonderful flower (place) called learning in the world that is open to everyone equally, so I think we should be grateful for that.

"If there is no place for learning in the world ..."

■ Universities that positively support student learning

For 20 years, universities have been a place to provide education to students before they are a place for faculty research.
Kanazawa's industrial university that had announced.Kyoto recognizes that learning is something that is enhanced by one's own motivation, and that if it is an activity for deciding the theme of the graduation thesis or researching the graduation thesis, the latter half of the third year is almost a credit even for extracurricular activities outside the university. Complex university.Nagano promotes positive challenges to what is said to be "a hundred challenges" despite being a childcare junior college with a tight curriculum structure in order to foster the motivation of students to think and challenge themselves. Junior college.

There are many unique universities in Japan that support students to learn positively. At that point, I would like to introduce a lot of such universities as a big theme in this column.

By introducing a lot of such universities, I would like to reconsider what I am learning positively, and I would like to introduce interesting universities hidden from readers.
