Focusing on industry-government-academia collaborative education

Regarding the content and method of education, we are thinking of trying to develop new fields that have never been seen before, and one of them is thorough industry-government-academia collaborative education. The university considers industry-government-academia collaborative education to be an important element of future university education, and has been actively engaged in it, but it is by no means sufficient in terms of organizational efforts.

For a long time in Japan, it was common for universities to recommend employment of science-related human resources to companies, saying, "I want you to hire such human resources because they have been trained."It has become the center of open recruitment without university recommendation, and in recent years, companies have been demanding immediate action, and the demand for university education has become stricter. It is said that the cause is that competition between companies has become fierce due to globalization and there is no room for employee education in companies, but it is necessary for universities to re-question whether they can really develop the human resources required by companies. I have.University studies and research are still conservative, if not so much as an ivory tower, and often fail to keep up with changing needs in society and industry.

The best way to eliminate such mismatches is to take students to the field and receive live education and training from the people in the field. It is to complement what the university does not reach. In order to develop and develop the human resources needed by the site, it is important to know the site and its needs while attending school. In particular, at a university like our university, there are many cases where we not only get a job at a large company whose duties are specialized, but also go to a small and medium-sized company where various functions are required.Small and medium-sized enterprises generally cannot afford to train new employees more than large enterprises, so they also need to cooperate with it.

The university has been constantly promoting university education reform. In particular, we have been one of the first to work on the reform of entrance examinations, the introduction of first-year education, and career education. The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is also shifting from the former mass-pro education to small-group education and then to tailor-made education that takes it one step further.

In this way, for our university, which has been working with the community, the fact that the fields and methods of education and research are new is not sufficient as a reason for establishing a new education and research organization.Universities also have the role of cultivating solid human power to comprehensively consider the future life and working styles of students. In today's declining birthrate, instead of being aware of competition with other universities, we will contribute to the promotion of local industry, secure employment for young people in the region, and enrich the lives of people living in the region. What kind of education does the university need to provide for that purpose? From an engineering standpoint, think about what kind of expertise, industry, and living environment you need to create a new work lifestyle.I think that this is the original mission of the university.

Aerospace science and engineering is an extremely important issue for our university in the sense that it contributes to the development of academics, economics, and the region, and we are one of the new universities and academics through the opening of a new department. I would like to challenge how to make it.
