A private university research branding project in which the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology will give priority support to private universities that under the leadership of the president, based on the unique research of the university, and are making efforts to greatly develop the uniqueness of the entire university. Of this branding project carried out in 2016, it is classified as "research that contributes to the development of national or international economic and social development, and the development of science and technology by establishing cutting-edge and interdisciplinary research bases." There were 198 applications from all over Japan for Type B (global expansion type), and 40 schools were selected after rigorous screening. Azabu University, which proposed a world-leading research project called "Realization of a human health society through the creation of animal symbiotic science-Global symbiotic system" One Health "-", is one of the selected schools.
