Shintaro Yamada D & I Foundation has been recruiting "STEM High School Girls Scholarships" since August to help female students advance into the STEM (science) field.Initially, the application deadline was the end of September, but due to the impact of the extension of the state of emergency, the application will be extended until October 8 in order to provide more junior high school girls with opportunities to apply.

　This scholarship is a benefit type, there is no need for repayment, there are no restrictions on grades or income, and you can apply by simply filling out an online form.No interviews will be held after application.By adopting a lottery system where everyone has equal chances, we aim to make going on to science as an option for many junior high school girls.

　Applicants are women who are scheduled to enter high school in April 2022 (gender identity or gender in the family register), high school science and mathematics in Japan, high school designated by Reiwa 4rd year Super Science High School, or Those who have taken the college of technology and are planning to enroll.The target high schools are posted on the Foundation website.Not applicable to internal students from junior high school.Apply by October 3th from the entry form, draw lots around October 10th, and notify all applicants of the selection results by email at the end of October.

　The amount of payment is 25 yen (annual amount) for national and public schools, 50 yen (annual amount) for private schools, 3 years while attending a maximum high school, and 5 years while attending a technical college (however, continuous examination is conducted).The maximum number of people hired is about 100.This time, it is only for third-year junior high school students who are scheduled to go on to school in April 2022, but we are also considering the second project.
