Oita University has created an evacuation notebook (A5 size, 50 pages) that summarizes information necessary for living in an evacuation center in the event of a disaster. It was created by the citizens of Yufu, Oita Prefecture, who were affected by the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake, and it is designed so that medical personnel can easily grasp their health condition.

 According to Oita University, the notebook has a part where you can enter blood type, medication, allergies, emergency contact information, "disaster evacuation card" that you can carry in your wallet, and "basic information about your family". In addition to introducing in detail the list of essentials for evacuation, how to use the message dial for disasters, evacuation routes, etc., information necessary for living in a shelter after a disaster occurs is also written.

 The earthquake-related working group made up of faculty members from the social welfare practice course, psychology course, and physiotherapy course of the Faculty of Health and Welfare has made use of their respective specialized knowledge.In addition to conducting questionnaire surveys and interviews with the elderly and disabled in Yufu City, who were affected by the Kumamoto Earthquake and lived in evacuation shelters, we also obtained the cooperation of the disaster prevention departments in Oita Prefecture and Yufu City.

 The evacuation notebook will be distributed free of charge to Yufu citizens, and the contents will be posted on the website of the Faculty of Health and Welfare so that anyone can use it.
