The Japan Sports Agency has selected eight schools, including Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences and Japan Sports University, in the "University Sports Promotion Project" to support the activities of universities with sports managers.The sports administrator is the commander who strategically promotes the university's sports-related efforts, and each school implements various efforts to link sports to the university's branding.

 According to the Sports Agency, the eight schools selected are Osaka and Japan Sports University, as well as Aoyama Gakuin University, Waseda University, Kaya Sports University, Juntendo University, University of Tsukuba, and Ritsumeikan University.The technical review committee, which is composed of academic experts, reviewed and selected the business plans of each school.

 Osaka University of Health and Sport Sciences will establish a sports bureau on campus to promote sports promotion projects and inter-university collaboration, and promote social contribution projects in collaboration with local communities and sports organizations.Nippon Sport Science University has set up a person in charge of the athletic club and is working to acquire sponsors for minor sports.Aoyama Gakuin University will further promote the conversion of professional basketball into a home arena based on university facilities.Waseda University develops a university sports administrator training program.
Kanoya Sports University will establish a sports administration department, and Juntendo University will establish a Juntendo Sports Promotion Support Center (tentative name).University of Tsukuba will train sports administrator in collaboration with Temple University in the United States.Ritsumeikan University is considering the Kansai Consortium as a cross-university organization.
