At the Department of Information and Culture, Faculty of Media and Communication, Edogawa University, students participated in a facilitator training course sponsored by the Citizens' Safety Promotion Department, Bureau of Life, Culture and Sports, Tokyo Metropolitan Government.This is a course to train group work facilitators at lectures to acquire and establish knowledge such as appropriate Internet use, and students who complete the course will start working as facilitators.
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Citizens' Safety Promotion Department, Citizens', Culture and Sports Bureau holds lectures at schools, etc., in order to acquire and establish knowledge such as appropriate Internet use.In the activities, students themselves have a sense of ownership, and group work is done in order to understand the problem and acquire the ability to protect themselves.
Facilitators (volunteers) play a role in promoting the group work, and since 2017 Edogawa University has received a request from the Tokyo Metropolitan Youth and Security Affairs Headquarters, and students from the Department of Information and Culture, Faculty of Media and Communication have participated.In 2019, he received a letter of appreciation for his active activities, such as giving advice on Internet use to junior and senior high school students.
In 2022, we will welcome a person in charge from Tokyo and hold a facilitator training course on campus.Participating students learned about youth issues related to the Internet, how to proceed with the course, and how to promote active discussion, and then conducted group work.At the end, a certificate of completion was awarded, and the students were motivated to participate in future facilitator activities.
