Kyushu Institute of Technology has signed partnership agreements with Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, major software company SAP Japan, and information system company Technos Japan for digital human resource development and regional revitalization. In addition to nurturing digital human resources in Iizuka City, we will promote the attraction of IT companies and engineers, aiming to create new industries in rural areas suffering from population decline.

Universities provide knowledge and skills suitable for industry needs.
Iizuka City is the central city of the Chikuho region, located in the central part of Fukuoka Prefecture. In modern times, coal mined in Chikuho became a key industry of the country, and the city prospered as a coal mining town, but after the closure of the mine, rapid depopulation is progressing. The population is about 13. In the 1950s, it had a population of nearly 20, but it has shrunk by two-thirds.
The city is home to the campuses of Kyushu Institute of Technology and Kinki University. With the conclusion of this agreement, the movement will be further accelerated, and the policy is to embark on the creation of new industries that use IT as an engine to revitalize the region and local resources.Kyushu Institute of Technology, SAP Japan, and Technos Japan will back this up.
