 In addition to Bunkyo Ward staff, Japan Women's University faculty and staff, and students, staff from the Civic Center and kindergartens and nursery schools in the ward also participated in the training.We proceeded with the establishment of a first-aid station according to the procedure manual, including facility safety inspections from the outside and installation of cardboard beds in the medical space.Professor Hirata commented, "I was able to proceed with the training more smoothly than I had imagined. It was a great achievement that I was able to put the procedure manual into practice and actually think about the problems."

 In 2016, Bunkyo Ward became the first in Japan to set up a relief center for expectant mothers and infants in the event of a disaster.Pregnant Women and Infants Relief Centers are facilities that temporarily accept expectant and nursing mothers and infants when their houses collapse due to an earthquake, etc., or there is a fear of them collapsing. Gakuen Women's College, Teisei Gakuen Junior College, and Toyo Gakuen University have been designated as relief stations.
