In April 2019, Kogakuin University will open the Department of Aeronautical Science and Engineering in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering, Faculty of Advanced Engineering, to train "Engineer Pilot ®" with advanced engineering knowledge.
The Department of Aeronautical Science and Engineering is set up in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering, which trains engineers, and is characterized by the ability to acquire flight maneuvering training to become a pilot while taking the curriculum of the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering. After experiencing both fixed-wing and rotary-wing maneuvers at the flight maneuvering camp in the first half of the first year, the students themselves decide which one to choose.Flight flight training is also set up overseas, so you can develop a global sense.In addition, since these trainings are set for long vacations, it is also a point that it is compatible with the curriculum course of the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering, and it is possible to select a course that makes use of specialized knowledge.
There are four courses that have already been announced, "JCAB Business Domestic Licensor Course", "JCAB Business Overseas Licensor A Course", and "JCAB Business Overseas Licensor A Course" aiming to acquire the qualification of a commercial pilot license, which is a national qualification under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. "Same B course", "FAA CFI course" aiming to acquire the qualification of a flight instructor issued by the United States.In addition to these, in August 2018, the establishment of a new "Airline Pilot Designated School Recommended Course" was announced.
This "Airline Pilot Designated School Recommended Course" is the first course in Japan that aims to acquire a private pilot license from the United States and to obtain a recommendation qualification for the in-house training pilot recruitment selection of a major Japanese airline.Students can qualify for recommendation for in-house training pilot recruitment selection by a major airline affiliated with Kogakuin University if they meet some conditions specified by the university in four years.The recommendation conditions are that you must obtain a TOEIC score of 4 or higher or an Eiken CSE of 1 or higher by mid-December of the first year and pass the English conversation ability confirmation test conducted by an affiliated flight school in the United States, until March of the second year. In addition, he obtained a FAA private pilot license from a partner flight school in the United States and passed the skill confirmation test locally.
